WACO, USA – Athing Mu claimed a world 800m lead and U20 area record at the Michael Johnson Invitational.
Mu’s best-ever effort of 1:57.73 is also the fastest U20 time since 2014. The time is eighth on World Athletics’ all-time U20 list.
Alliyah Miller ran 2:00.87 to take the runner-up spot.
Gabrielle Thomas got sprint double 11.21 (+1.5m/s wind) and 22.92 (+1.9m/s) over Morolake Akinosun 11.23 and Briton Jodie Williams 23.23.
Chanel Brissett posted a windy 12.85 (+2.3m/s wind) in the hurdles, and Panama’s Gianna Woodruff clocked 56.22 in the 400m hurdles.
Liberian record holder Emmanuel Matadi posted 10.12 (+1.4m/s) in the 100m, and Zach Bradford went over 5.71m in the pole vault.
