The Milo Western Relays organisers have decided to cancel the 2021 staging of the event.

On Tuesday (27 Jan), Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness said Cabinet has agreed that sporting events can resume but under certain conditions.

The window for such is between the period of February 1 and February 28, 2021.

Sporting events will only be permitted in controlled venues, that is, perimeter fencing in place, access to proper sanitary conveniences and conducive to appropriate security measures.

In a release, the organisers said Milo Western for 2021 “has been cancelled for the first time since it started in 1978.”

The Milo Western Relays was set for 13 February 2021.

“We hope it will return next year.
