St. Jago get set for Atlanta Georgia Relays

The Atlanta Georgia Relays has cancelled its 2020 staging. The event was set for May 23 and 24 at the McEachern High School Track 2395 Brand Road, Powder Springs, Georgia.

“It is with a heavy heart and tremendous sadness that we announce the cancellation of the 6th staging of the Annual Atlanta Georgia Relays,” the release from the organizers read.

“We are also saddened that due to scheduling conflicts, postponement is not an option,” the release continued.

“We will now shift our focus to 2021 and promise it will be the best one yet.”

“The decision, a difficult one, was taken against the spread of the Corona Virus and the resultant increase in cases across the country with many states being affected.

The coronavirus, which has killed over 95,714 worldwide, caused many events to be postponed or cancelled in the last three months.

“We would not be able to host an event in late May without putting the lives of our athletes and fans at risk,” the organizers said.
