Serena Cole wins the Class 2 girls' 100m at Ben Francis Invitational

Serena Cole won the U17 girls’ long jump final on Saturday’s (7 March) second day of Jamaica’s CARIFTA Games Trials at the National Stadium.

Cole was the only competitor over six meters. Cole’s personal best leap of 6.18m handed her the win over Kay-Lagay Clarke of St. Jago, 5.91m.

Daniella Anglin of Herbert won the U20 high jump final with a clearance of 1.78m.

Cedricka Williams of Holmwood threw 45.85m to take the U17 girls’ discus final.

Meanwhile, Shaaquena Foote, 59.38secs, led the U20 girls’ 400m hurdles qualifiers. Garriel White was the next best with 59.66.

KC’s Antonio Forbes 55.03 and Nicquaine Henry of Calabar 51.99 are the U17 and U20 boys’ 400m hurdlers fastest qualifiers.

Monique Stewart of Rusea’s High is the fastest U17 800m girl with 2:15.89. Edwin Allen’s pair of Jessica McLean 2:14.42 and Rushana Dwyer 2:19.61 are the top U20 girls’ qualifiers.

KC’s pair of Amos Beadle 1:54.26 and Giovouni Henry 1:54.51 recorded the fastest times in the U20 boys’ 800m.
Tyrice Taylor of Vere 1:58.02 and Kimar Farquharson of Calabar 1:58.85 are also in the final.
