Former world 100m record holder Asafa Powell is confident he will do well this season.

Powell, who twice set the world 100m records between 2005 and 2008 with times of 9.77 and 9.74, is looking forward to Tokyo 2020, which will be his last Olympic Games.

The 37-year-old sprinter who helped Jamaica to the Rio 2016 men’s 4x100m title, said with the support he receives from Jamaicans it’s hard to give up.

Powell, the Osaka 2007 and Berlin 2009 World Championships 100m bronze medallist, however, said this season could turn out his career decider.

Powell was speaking after his 5th place finish at the New Balance Boston Indoor Meet on the weekend.
