Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is looking to contest both the 100m and 200m at the World Championships in Doha, informs the Jamaica Star.

“The championships are all the way down in October. I would definitely want to do the sprint double but it is up to my coach. I do not shy away from challenges and it is a challenge that I am willing to take on but it is up to my coach,” she said. Fraser-Pryce will contest the 4x200m at the IAAF World Relays in Yokohama.

Lemaitre out of France team

Christophe Lemaitre has pulled out of France’s team for this weekend’s World Relays due to pain behind the right knee. L’Equipe reports the former European champion, who was due to take part in the 4x100m relay, will fly home early.

Bolingo out for Belgium

Cynthia Bolingo has pulled out of Belgium’s 4x400m team at the World Relays due to an inflamed Achilles tendon, informs sport.be.

Shakes-Drayton praises mixed 4x400m

Perri Shakes-Drayton has said the mixed 4x400m relay at the World Relays could be “what the sport needs,” informs AFP.

“When I saw it was listed on the programme, I thought ‘mixed? A mixed relay?’ It took me by surprise. But it will be interesting and fun. I think that’s what the sport needs. Something different and exciting,” she said.

No 4×4 for Baumgart-Witan

In the Polish women 4x400m team not running will be Iga Baumgart-Witan. After a collision with another runner, she injured herself. It is not serious, but she does not want to risk the injury will get worse.
