Briana Williams will face Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce at 2019 Racers Grand Prix.

Briana Williams will take on Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in one of the most interesting matchups at this year’s Adidas Racers Grand Prix.

The two, Williams, who won last year’s World U20 sprint double in Finland, and veteran Fraser-Pryce, a two-time Olympic Games 100m champion, will face-off in the women’s 100m dash.

“Racers Grand Prix has Shelly compete every year, and she has never lost a race there,” said Glen Mills, the chairman of the Racers Grand Prix.

Mills also announced that World Championships 2011 bronze medalist Kelly-Ann Baptiste, and her compatriot, 2018 Commonwealth champion Michelle-lee Aye, will also be in the women’s 100m.

Asafa Powell continues his journey towards 100 sub-10 second times.

“Asafa is going all out to run 100 sub-10, and I am encouraging everybody to come out and cheer him along,” urged Mills.

“He will be accompanied by Zharnel Hughes, Nesta Carter and Kemar Bailey-Cole,” said Mills.

Jamaica’s 2018 Diamond League winner in the discus, Fedrick Dacres, will also compete.

Bahamian Olympic Games 400m champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo, along with Americans Phyllis Francis, the world 400m champion, Trayvon Bromell and Fred Kerley, are also confirmed for the June 8 meeting.
