AUSTIN, Texas – Twenty-nine members of The University of Texas Track & Field team earned spots on the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 team, the Big 12 Conference announced on Tuesday (7 May).
A student-athlete was required to maintain a 3.00-grade point average or higher, either cumulative or over the past two semesters, and participate in 20 per cent of the Longhorns competitions to qualify for the honour.
First team members consist of student-athletes with a 3.20 or better GPA and second team members hold GPAs ranging from a 3.00 to 3.19. Freshman and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
Of the Longhorns honorees, 14 Women and 11 Men earned first-team recognition while two members from each squad made the second-team.
