Jamaica Invitational 2019 returns to first Saturday in May

The staging of the Jamaica International Invitational Meeting (JIIM), an IAAF World Challenge event, has returned to its original schedule, which is the first Saturday in May.

Over the last two years, the organisers staged the meet on the third Saturday in May, which was to avoid a clash with the Doha Diamond League.

However, in 2019, both events will be held on the same weekend with Doha on Friday.

The IAAF today (Aug 23) announced the schedule for the 2019 IAAF World Challenge Series. It will be the IAAF second-tier series of meetings that will take place in nine cities in nine countries on three continents.
