Christopher Taylor named in Jamaica's team for IAAF World U20 Championships

Christopher Taylor and Damion Thomas head Jamaica’s 42-member team for next month’s IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland.

Taylor, the 2015 World Youth 400m champion, is the world leader in the 200m (20.35) and 400m (44.88, an NJR). The JAAA didn’t say which of the event he will run at the Championships.

Thomas, who ran a world junior 110m hurdles record 12.99secs to win Jamaica’s Trials last weekend, has four of the top five times this season.

Briana Williams, who will enter the Championships as the third fastest junior female this season at 11.13secs, along with 2018 World Youth 100m hurdles champion Britany Anderson are in the team.

Dejour Russell, the 2018 World Youth 110m hurdles champion, will also make the trip for the July 10-15 Championships.

FEMALE: Britany Anderson, Amoi Brown, Lotavia Brown, Janique Burgher, Lamara Distin, Shaquena Foote, Susan Francis, Janielle Josephs, Chrissani May, Fredricka Mckenzie, Ockera Myrie, Kemba Nelson, Ackera Nugent, Shiann Salmon, Kimone Shaw, Ackelia Smith, Colisha Taylor, Sanique Walker, Briana Williams and Stacey-Ann Williams.
