Jones has “high expectations” for Cayman Invitational

Travia Jones, a Canadian 22-year-old sprinter, is here in Grand Cayman for Saturday’s (2 June) Cayman Invitational.

She promised a good outing, saying “I’m really coming into this event with a lot of high expectations for myself”

Jones’ career highlight to date was competing at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics.

The Canadian ended her collegiate career with personal bests of 52.92 indoors and 51.63 outdoors in the 400 meters. Ranked No. 8 on LSU’s all-time outdoor performance list in the women’s 400-meter dash.

Jones is a two-time All-American and All-SEC 400-meter runner during her four years at LSU from 2014-17.

She won the NCAA Outdoor Bronze medal in the 4x400m relay with LSU as a senior in 2017
