Newly crowned Jamaica Junior 400m record holder Christopher Taylor has now set his sight on lowering Usain Bolt’s 200m mark.

Taylor, a fifth form student at Calabar High School, ran 44.88 seconds to lower Akeem Bloomfield’s three-year-old Jamaican 400m junior record of 44.93.

Bolt’s 19.93 world junior record mark is now Taylor’s aim.

“That’s my aim next season and I am going to achieve that by the grace of God,” Taylor said.

Christopher Taylor dedicated 400m achievement to Javon Francis, who went down after winning his semi-final on Saturday evening.

Taylor described Francis as his “main motivator.”
“That motivated me to come out here and do it for both of us.”
