Jamaican Raheem Chambers won the College Men’s 100m dash Championship 100m dash at the Penn Relays Saturday (28 April).
Chambers, representing Auburn University, topped the 100m with a time of 10.22, just two one-hundreths shy of his collegiate best, to outdistance Houston’s Cameron Burrell (10.29).
Chamber became Auburn’s fourth sprinter to win the men’s 100m at the Penn Relays and first since Olympian Coby Miller won in 1999 with an identical time of 10.22.
Two other Jamaicans, Akeem Bloomfield and Nathon Allen, helped Auburn to second place in the college men’s 4x400m. The time 3:03.52.
Vying for Auburn’s fifth title of the relays, the quartet of Xavier Coakley, Bloomfield, Chaison Tenkiang and Allen came up just short, claiming second in 3:03.52.
Houston with Barbadian Mario Burke won the event in 3:01.82.
