Collins, St. Kitts and Nevis’ sporting hero, crossed the line in the men’s 60m dash in 6.61. He ran 6.67 to qualify from heats 1/2.
Chinese Su Bingtian topped the event’s final in 6.43.
Jamaican Evans recorded a time of 7.25 in the women’s equivalent, won by Great Britain’s Asha Phillip, 7.17secs.
American Christina Manning took the women’s 60m hurdles in 7.77. She ran 7.90 in the heats.
