Elaine Thompson, the Rio 2016 Olympic sprint double champion, said she is very pleased with her season opener of 7.18 over 60m (outdoor) at Saturday’s (27 January) Queens Grace Jackson Meet held at the National Stadium. Thompson’s training partner Christania Williams, 7.19 and Sashalee Forbes of Sprintec 7.28 were second and third respectively.
