Caribbean athletes go in search of fast times in Italy

ROVERETO (ITA): Seven World medallists from London will be in action in of Italy’s biggest meetings, the 53rd Palio Citta della Quercia on Tuesday (29 Aug).

The sprints will be particularly strong, with the men’s 100m featuring American Isiah Young, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Kim Collins, Jamaican Julian Forte and James Dasaolu of Great Britain.

The women’s 100m will include Jamaicans Simone Facey and Jura Levy.

Ristananna Tracey is the main competitor in the one lap hurdles.

The men’s 800m has Nijel Amos and Amel Tuka. The field events are highlighted by world high jump silver medallist Yuliya Levhenko and world discus bronze medallist Mason Finlay.

In women 800m Francine Niyonsaba of Burundi is the star.
