Sands wants to be an inspiration

Leevan Sands, who battled injuries for the past four years, aims for a big jump at Wednesday’s (17 May 2017) Guadeloupe International Meeting that will get him into London 2017.

Sands also hope his fighting spirit over the years will serve as an inspiration to others.

His personal best jump is 17.59 metres, achieved during his bronze medal leap in 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. This is the current Bahamian record. He also won bronze medals at the 2003 World Championships and 2002 Commonwealth Games.
