Rio Olympic Games sprint hero Elaine Thompson is super excited about this weekend’s (April 22 and 23) IAAF World Relays #Bahamas2017.
Thompson, who won the sprint double in Rio last summer, said, “I am really looking forward to it.”
“It’s my first world relays team, third time selected, but the first time going, so I am really super excited.”
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Veronica Campbell-Brown, who both carried the baton for years with distinction, will not be in Bahamas.
This means a lot now is left up to Jamaica’s newest sprint queen to lead the charge.
Thompson said “they were my role models and for me to be a trendsetter, to follow in their footsteps and help take the gold medal to Jamaica.”
Thompson will only run the 4x200m in Bahamas.
