Following outstanding performances all season in the 4x 400 metres, Mico University will celebrate a historical return to this weekend’s Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
Led by IAAF World Junior 400m champion Tiffany James and Intercollegiate 400 metres silver medallist Dawnalee Loney, along with intercollegiate 800/1500/3000 champion Samantha James, Mico will contest the sprint Medley and 4x400m.
The male team will be led by Javere Bell and Jamari Francis, who both ran the opening and anchor legs for Jamaica’s bronze medal winning mixed 4x400m team, will compete in the 4x400m.
Raymond “KC” Graham, Sports Director at Mico, is happy with the team’s return to Penns.
Graham singled out Mico’s former chairman Karl Janes, present Chairman Professor Nevillle Ying and President Asburn Pinnock as the individuals who made the trip possible.
He said the contributions from Flow and NHT also helped with the team.
