Matherson rules out of Champs 2017

Jhevaughn Matherson, according to information reaching Trackalerts.com, has been ruled out of the rest of Champs 2017

Kingston College’s (KC) Matherson, the favourite going into the the Class 1 boys’ 100m, held on to his right hamstring after crossing the line in semi-final 1 in 10.72, the fastest time advancing to the final.

He went down on the track, but later walked towards the medical area. He turned up hours later for the final, but picked out.

Matherson’s withdrawal will be a big blow for KC in their bid for title honours. He was one of the favourites for gold in the 200m.

The second year Class 1 athlete will also be missed in the relays. He was expected to play critical roles in both 4x100m and 4×400 open final.
