NASSAU, Bahamas – Technical Director for Jamaica’s team to the World Relays #Bahamas2017, Maurice Wilson, has said that despite the difficulties faced, the team is ready to go.

“We are all set and ready to go, once we hit the track, all those problems are put behind us and I know the team is going to give 150%,” Wilson told Trackalerts.com after a team meeting at his hotel here in Nassau.

Wilson disclosed the difficult circumstances faced by the team. “It has been a difficult run…we came in late last night (Thursday), and we really did not get the time, that we really needed to do the practice sessions that we wanted to do, but we still got in some changes today, everything went well,” he explained.

According to Wilson, “we just had a team meeting trying to sought out the various different teams and we are expecting the teams to compete and do well.”

Wilson said they are always challenges putting the best relay teams out there because “everybody wants to run…….we did not have a trials, so any call that you made will affect you somewhat, because everybody wants to run, so it’s one of those situations in which there is no trials and the criteria for selection for this team varies, so most times it’s left to experience of the coaching staff to put the best teams together for Jamaica,” added Wilson.
