Evans wins, Collins DQ’ed at Meeting National en salle Paris

Gayon Evans continued her impressive indoor season form with victory at Thursday’s ( 8 Feb) Meeting National en salle Paris in France.

Evans, who last week ran a personal best 7.14secs, won for the second time on Thursday in 7.17secs.
Olesya Povh of Ukraine was second in 7.22 and American Lekeisha Lawson, third in 7.27.
Evans, who trains with Maurice Wilson at GC Foster College, ran 7.21 in the heats.

In the men’s event, Jamaican Everton Clarke was beaten into second place, 6.54 to 6.57 by Cuban Yunier Perez. Michael Rodgers of USA finished third in 6.62.
Kim Collins of St. Kitts and Nevis ran 6.58 in the heats, but was disqualified in the final.

Jamaican Olympian Demar Forbes, 7.74m, was third in the men’s long jump, won by South African Godfrey Mokoena, 7.95m
