Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt is set to travel to Australia for the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Two days after the Melbourne Cup the world’s fasted man will be trackside at Flemington for Oaks Day on November 3, according to the Herald Sun.

Bolt said it would be the first time he would attend such an event, and he planned to spend about two weeks in the country.

He will also meet up with former Australian runner and friend John Steffensen.

Bolt said he would use the trip as a bit of a holiday, and wouldn’t be doing much training.

“We tend to relax, play some football or go karting, have a few nights out,” he said.

“I will do a little bit of training but my serious training starts when I get back to Jamaica.”

Earlier this year at the Rio Olympics, Bolt became a three-time 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay champion at consecutive Olympics.
