Jamaica gets new Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Sport, led by Minister, the Honourable Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange, convened the first orientation session for the newly appointed board members of the Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel and the Anti-Doping Appeal Tribunal at the Courtleigh Hotel in Kingston on Friday, July 1, 2016.

In welcoming the members of the Panel and Tribunal, Minister Grange expressed her gratitude to them for “accepting the charge to contribute to the continued growth, development and prosperity of our country by serving on the Panel and on the Tribunal respectively.”

“This composition of members has a high level of technical skills and competence and so I am anticipating the highest levels of deliberation going forward as you execute your respective duties. Also, remember, you are independent bodies,” Minister Grange said.

The newly appointed members of the Independent Anti – Doping Disciplinary Panel are:

Mr Kent Gammon – Chairman
Mr Hugh Faulkner – Vice Chairman
Ms Georgia Gibson Henlin – Vice Chairman
Dr Japheth Ford
Dr Donovan Calder
Dr Marjorie Vassell
Mr Dixeth Palmer
Ms Denise Forrest
Mr Heron Dale

The members of the Anti-Doping Appeal Tribunal are:

Honourable Justice Karl Harrison – Chairman
Honourable Justice Marva McIntosh – Deputy Chairman

Dr Maria Smith
Mr Steve Bucknor
Mr Jeremy Taylor

Minister Grange reassured the board members that they will receive full support from the team in the Sport Division of the Ministry to assist in carry out their respective duties.
