Former world champion, Jehue Gordon, is the third fastest qualifier for Sunday’s 400m hurdles final at the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Trials.
Gordon enters with a time of 50.63. He trails Eric Alejandro of Puerto Rico, 50.12 and Emmanuel Mayers, 50.20.
Also, on Saturday’s opening day, Mulern Jean took the 100m hurdles in 13.06. She beat Lutisha Bowen of Panama 13.33 and Deborah John 13.36.
Mikel Thomas won the 110m hurdles in 13.67, beating Ruebin Walters, 13.70, and Aarmis Massenburg. 13.88
Guyanese, Natrena Hopper, cleared 1.75m in the women’s high jump, the same height as second place finisher, Deandra Daniel.
Ayanna Alexander leapt 13.69 in the women’s triple jump.
Che Richards, 7.53m, in the men’s long jump.
In the semi-finals of the 100m, Michelle-Lee Ahye, 10.94, was the fastest while Kelly-Ann Baptiste 10.04 was next best.
Alena Brooks won the women’s 800m in 2:10.32 ahead of Guyanese, Andrea Foster, 2:16.64.
