News has surfaced earlier this month that Jamaica could lose a medal from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. While the authorities have yet to disclose the name of the individual, several news agencies are reporting Nesta Carter as the athlete who returned the positive test.

Six-time Olympic Games gold medal winner, Usain Bolt, who said he’s willing to give back his 4x100m medal, expressed his disappointment.

"Things happen in life, if it's confirmed or whatever and I need to give back my gold medal it's not a problem to me," Bolt was quoted by The Gleaner as saying.

"It's heartbreaking, for years you've worked hard to accumulate gold medals and you work hard to be a champion, so it's heartbreaking but it's one of those things," Bolt said of the possibility of giving returning the medal.

Jamaica’s quartet of Carter, Michael Frater, Bolt and Asafa Powell won the Beijing men’s 4x100m title in a then world record 37.10.

"It must be hard, I can't tell what he's (Carter) going through but it must be hard and frustrating. I'm not too pleased about the situation, I think it's rough for track and field but it's just one of those things," said Bolt.
