Jamaica won the women’s 4×400 metres at the World Championships here on Sunday.
Jamaica won in 3:19.13 seconds with the United States doing 3:19.44 and Great Britain 3:23.62 for third
Christine Day (first leg): “I have done really great. We wanted the gold medal and we won it.”
Shericka Jackson (second leg): “I am feeling great. Every year they make the US relay a favourite but now we brought our A+ game. When I ran I thought: "Nobody will grab the gold medal from Jamaica."
Stephenie Ann McPherson (third leg): “All I had to do is to maintain the lead. I got it from my teammates, they did a great job.
Novlene Williams-Mills (fourth leg): “These girls, they did it all the way. (On how she managed to overtake the US runner on the last metres) That is when you have the heart of a champion, that is what you do.”
