Both Jamaican contenders, Sheldon Mitchell and Jason Livermore have qualified for the Pan Am Games men's 100m semi-finals to be held on Wednesday (July 22) at 6:50pm.
Mitchell, who will run in heat 1/2 from lane 4, qualified with 10.14secs behind American Lee, who was first in 9.99secs.
Ramon Gittens of Barbados 10.03 and Antoine Adams of St. Kitts and Nevis third in 10.11 were second and third in Mitchell’s semi-final.
Semi-final 2 will see Jason Livermore running from lane 6. Livermore was 2nd in heat 1/3 behind Canadian Andre De Grasse in 10.09. De Grasse did 10.06 to emerge winner of his heat.
In the women’s 100m hurdles final, USA’S Queen Harrison won in a new games record of 12.52s. Second was her teammate Tenaya Jones with 12.84s and Nikkia Holder of Canada third with 12.85s.
Kimberly Laing, the only Jamaican to make the final, finished 4th with a time of 12.95s.
