MOUNTAIN VIEW, USA – Worlds fastest sprinter of 2014 American Justin Gatlin confirmed he wants to double at next years World Championships in Beijing.

As Diamond Race winner in the 100m, Gatlin has the Wild Card and must only qualify at the 200m at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing.

Success in that quest—which of course faces a notable roadblock in one Usain Bolt—would  match his two-golds Worlds of a decade ago (2005). That’s why he is happy to have a Wild  Card in his hip pocket.

"I think a lot of people just use the bye to sit on it and have fun and relax, and that’s fine,” he says, “but I want to be able to entertain the crowd in the world of track even more. So by having a bye, it will give me an opportunity to show my talent and still preserve my body,“ said Gatlin for trackandfieldnews.com.
