She is now Ambassador Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. The Olympic and World sprint champion was on Wednesday (Sept 24) conferred with the designation of Ambassador Special Envoy by the Jamaican Government.
"Wow! Who could have predicted a little girl from the Waterhouse Community would one day become an Ambassador for her country?" wrote Fraser-Pryce on her facebook page.
Both Fraser-Pryce and her husband, Jason received diplomatic passports from Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller.
"Thanks to the Office of The Prime Minister for bestowing on me diplomatic travel for Mr. and Mrs Jason Pryce for life:)," she added.
At the World Championships level, she won the 100m in 2009 and the sprint double in 2013. She helped Jamaica to gold on both occasions in the 4x100m relay.
She is the World Indoor 60m champion.
