After a 4th place on 100m in Zurich (10.07), Asafa Powell continues his campaign in Europe.
Powell had his first appearance in over a year at a Diamond League on Thursday. He was fourth. However, a week earlier, in Austin, Powell accomplished an astonishing 9.87.
Next week the Jamaican sprinter will run in two IAAF World Challenge meetings, Zagreb (Croatia) on 2nd September, and Rieti (Italy) on 7th September.
The Italian track is one of the most loved by Asafa. Seven years ago in Rieti, Powell set the then world record of 9.74 in heats. An unforgettable day, the last world record for him on 100 meters, before the explosion of the “hurricane” Usain Bolt.
