KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jaheel Hyde and Martin Manley head Jamaica’s delegation to the 2nd summer Youth Olympic Games set for Nanjing, China between August 16 and 28.
Hyde, who won last year’s World Youth 110m hurdles title and Manley the 400m crown, are the only athletes with world titles on the team.
Tiffany James, who won bronze in the 400m at the same World Youth Championships, heads the seven girls named for Games.
Jamaica will send representatives in four sports, track and field, beach volleyball, fencing and swimming.
The other track & field athletes are – boys Raheem Chambers, Chad Walker, Lushane Wilson, Obrien Wasome, Jordan Scott and Vashon McCarthy; along with girls – Shanice Reid, Natalliah Whyte, Junelle Bromfield, Janeek Brown, Shenice Cohen and Janell Fullerton.
Jamaica junior and GC Foster College sprinter Kedisha Dallas will travel with the group as young ambassador.
