YOKOHAMA (JPN): Eilidh Doyle has pulled out of the British team for the IAAF World Relays due to a leg injury. She has been replaced by Perri Shakes-Drayton.
YOKOHAMA (JPN): Kevin Borlee has pulled out of Belgium’s 4x400m relay team for the World Relays due to a hamstring injury, informs sport.be. European indoor silver medallist Cynthia Bolingo is also an injury doubt due to Achilles inflammation.
ABUJA (NGR): Nigeria’s 11 athletes due to compete at the IAAF World Relays in Yokohama this weekend have been denied visas by the Japanese embassy, guardian.ng reports. Along with three officials and one coach, they were to fly tomorrow but were declined the necessary documentation yesterday.
TORONTO (CAN): Sub-20-second 200m runner Brendon Rodney spoke about Canada’s decision not to defend its title at the IAAF World Relays this weekend.
He told Jamaica Gleaner: “No 4x200m because of the schedule, so we’re just going to do 4x100m alone, and hopefully, we can win it.”
