Usain Bolt is the Greatest Male Athlete of all-time, according to readers of Athletics Weekly.
The results of the poll were published on Thursday (3 Dec) in the magazine’s December edition.
Bolt got 55.3 per cent of votes to finish ahead of Haile Gebrselassie (17.1) and Emil Zatopek (14.5).
Bolt is the world record holder in the 100m, 200m and 4×100m relay. His world records are 100m (9.58) and 200m (19.19) and 4x100m (36.84).
He is an eight-time Olympic gold medallist. He is the only sprinter to win Olympic 100m and 200m titles at three consecutive Olympics (2008, 2012 and 2016).
Also, he won two 4×100 relay gold medals.
Bolt also won 13 World Championships medals, among them 11 gold.
Bolt’s awards include the IAAF World Athlete of the Year, Track & Field Athlete of the Year, BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year (three times) and Laureus World Sportsman of the Year (four times).
Bolt retired after the 2017 World Championships.

I thought the world knew that long time. No need for debate. That is just it. If you want to add something just say “The greatest and humblest athlete of all times” and guess what Olympia will tell you he is the greatest father. He is just one precious gem.

Michael Phelps is up there but Bolt edges him out, cause more people are concerned as to who is the fastest runner in the world as compared to who is the fastest swimmer!
Andel Hamilton, Phelps swam different events. Most of his events weren’t about speed.
The 400 m individual medley is a long course event.
Tricky Williams or for lack of a better way to say it ‘best swimmer’
If we should combine Phelps medals in the Olympics & World Championships, he has more medals than Bolt.
Bolt is also my compatriot, but it’s so difficult to compare two different disciplines like Track & Swimming.
Tricky Williams complete under but at the end of the day they’re both athletes and that’s where the conversation is.

This generation for sure… all time, not so sure there we some fantastic athletes in the days gone by who did not have the benefit of the current scientific advancements in track, gear and race preparation, yet they excelled in their time.
