ta logo 1024x487 1The under-twenty National Track & Field Team comprising of twelve athletes and five officials have arrived safely in Bydgoszcz Poland, and will be going into action from Tuesday (19 July) at the IAAF World U20 Championships at the Zawisza Stadium.

The first athlete going into action will be Akanni Hislop in the 100m dash. Hislop will be in the first heat, running out of lane two, there will be six heats overall with a total of forty-three athletes taking part. The top three from each heat plus the next six fastest times will go through to the semi-finals which will be contested the next day(20th) along with the finals.

Next up on day two of competition will be Chelsea James in the Shot Put, followed by both Kashief King and Jacob St. Clair in the 400m dash. Also competing on day two will be sprinters Khalifa St Fort and Jenea Spinks in the 100m dash. Details of heats and lanes have not been posted as yet.

Day three will see the start of the men’s 200m heats, the women’s 100m semi-finals and finals and the men’s 400m semi-finals. Jeminise Parris will be first in action on day four when she competes in the 100m Hurdles followed by Khalifa St Fort in the 200m heats, then the women’s 4X100m relay, where the final four will come from St Fort, Jenea Spinks, Sarah Wollaston, Akeera Esdelle and Parris

Four out of the five quarter-milers comprising of Kashief King, Jacob St, Clair, Judah Taylor, Dwight St Hilare and Daniel Gibbs will make up the men’s 4X400m relay team which will be in action on the fifth day.
