Cemore Donald, Keenan Lawrence easily booked their 800m semi-finals places on Thursday’s second day at Champs 2016.

However, while Donald of Edwin Allen leads the Class 3 girls’ field with 2:16.91 ahead of her teammate Kayan Green 2:19.17, Lawrence was fourth fastest from the field of Class 2 boys.

Dwight Mason of STETHS is the Class 2 boys’ qualifying leader with 1:57.40 ahead of Tarees Rhoden of KC 1:57.86, and Kimar Farquharson of Calabar 1:58.19.

Keenan Lawrence, however, easily won his heat in 1:58.21.

The big five in the Class 1 boys' 800m, Rogay Granston of Holmwood 1:55.29, Leon Clarke of St. Jago 1:55.30, Nathan Brown of Excelsior 1:55.80, Shevan Parks of Bellefield 1:56.09 and Jauavney James of STETHS 1:56.79 are into the semis.

In the Class 2 girls’ event, Chrissani May of Holmwood leads the 16 qualifiers with 2:15.31.

Vere’s Britnie Dixon 2:17.51 was also easy in qualifying.

Jevana Edwards of St. Jago with 2:06.23 is the fastest of the 16 qualifiers in the Class 3 boys’ 800m.

Meanwhile, in the field, Warren Barrett of Calabar threw 49.25m to be on top of the Class 1 boys’ discus chart.
