tokyo 2020 alertsRasheed Dwyer carries Jamaica’s hopes for a medal on Wednesday’s 6th day of track and field at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in Japan. Dwyer will run from lane nine and Trinidad and Tobago’s Jereem Richards from lane 2 in the highly anticipated final.

America’s Noah Lyes came into the games as the favourite, but Andre De Grasse, who ran a Canadian record of 19.73, is in the form of his life.

Lyles’ season best is 19.74. Lyles’ teammates Erriyon Knighton, the 17-year-old sensation and Kenneth Bednarek are strong contenders for the medals.

Bahamian Shaunae Miller-Uibo and Jamaican Stephenie-Ann McPherson will headline the women’s 400m semi-finals.
