Jamaican’s five-time Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah will headline the new Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athletisme on June 05, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.

Thompson-Herah is undefeated this season and unlikely to be challenged here by a field whose other top name is Olympic fourth-place finisher Marie-Josee Ta Lou of Cote d’Ivoire.
Attention will likely turn to whether Thompson-Herah can produce a time closer to Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s world-leading 10.67 seconds. Thompson-Herah has run 10.79, 10.89, 10.93 and 10.94 seconds in her four outings for the year, during which she has been nursing a shoulder injury.
Jamaican Natasha Morrison, whose personal best is 10.87 seconds, will also face the starter. Michelle Lee Ahye of Trinidad and Tobago has a personal best of 10.82 and will be the third fastest in the field. The event will also see the Bahamas pair of Anthonique Strachan and TyNia Gaither.
Jamaican Shanieka Ricketts, triple jump specialist and winner of the 2019 Diamond League in her event, will also compete at the north African event.
