Elaine Thompson wins heat at Jamaica Trials 2017

Ten Jamaican female athletes have booked places to the 2019 IAAF Diamond League Final in Zurich (29 August) and Brussels (6 September).

Elaine Thompson, sprint double winner at Jamaica Trials, will run both 100m and 200m. Thompson is also the Rio Olympic Games sprint double champion.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is down to contest the women’s 100m.

The other Jamaicans are Stephenie-Ann McPherson (400m), Shericka Jackson (400m), Danielle Williams (100mH), Janieve Russell (400mH), Natoya Goule (800m), Shanieka Ricketts (Triple Jump), Kimberly Williams (Triple Jump) and Danniel Thomas-Dodd (Shot Put).

Shaunae Miller-Uibo is the only other Caribbean female qualified for the final. She is down to contest the 200m.
