Stacey-Ann Williams completed a perfect day for Jamaica juniors on Tuesday’s opening day (10 July) of the 16th IAAF World U20 Championships here in Tampere, Finland after she qualified for the second round of the women’s 400m.

She made sure all seven Jamaicans in action on Tuesday’s opening day progressed to semi-finals or finals.

Williams ran a season’s best 52.71 seconds, the third fastest of the first round, for second in her preliminary heat to India’s Hima Das (52.25 seconds) to earn an automatic berth in Wednesday’s semi-finals.
