Inter Secondary Schools Sports Association’s (ISSA) got approval on Friday (Jan 20) for several changes to take effect this year.

Principals voted overwhelmingly at the Terra Nova Hotel for the support in time for Champs, to be contested – March 28 and April 1, 2017.

Athletes will now be allowed to run two individual events and up to two relays.

In the field, however, athletes can do three individual events or two along with a relay.

The 400m hurdles will be split in two classes – 1 and 2.

The steeplechase open for boys and girls, 5,000m and 3,000m will allow only entries from classes 1 and 2 athletes.
In the multiple events, girls will be allowed one additional event with the heptathlon (seven events) while boys can only do the decathlon (10 events).
