Seprod subsidiary, Serge Island Dairies, Jamaica’s largest milk producer, has taken on the title sponsorships of both Prep and Primary Schools Track & Field Championships.

 The announcement was made on Wednesday in a press conference, which was attended by Minister without Portfolio (Sport) in the Office of the Prime Minister, the Honourable Natalie Neita-Headley; Opposition Leader Andrew Holness; Mayor of Kingston, Her Worship Angela Brown-Burke; State Minister for Tourism and Entertainment Damion Crawford; State Minister and MP Julian Robinson and Senator Nigel Clarke, at the National Stadium.

It was announced that in excess of J$20 million dollars will be invested by the entity into the popular inter-primary & inter-prep school track and field championships. The sponsorship will also support some 20 schools sports days activities during the threeyears of sponsorship.

Seprod Chairman, P.B. Scott, said that the investment, “was critical at this time given the serious challenges faced in sustaining these very important sports programs that are key to health focused youth development. Beyond that it is important that we inform the wider populace on the need for a balanced nutrition utilizing high quality local milk at affordable prices. It is a win, win.”

Matthew Samuda, the Marketing Manager for Seprod’s exclusive distributor Facey Commodity, highlighted that, “Serge Island is intent on promoting youth sports development, a healthy nutrition and buying Jamaican products. Therefore, taking on a prominent and young Jamaican athlete will only augment for the better what it is we are pushing and reinforces our commitment to building up Jamaica. Everyone will be excited at who we got on board”.

Serge Island's products are distributed locally and exported to the Caribbean, United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
