According to reports, “lack of Government support” is the reason for the cancellation of the event.

The country is experiencing one of the worst financial crisis.

However, the 2016 season will welcome two new meets to the regional calendar.

The NACAC Area Permit Meetings confirmed are Trinidad and Tobago Grand Games in Port of Spain on April 30 and Racers TC Grand Prix in Kingston, Jamaica on June 11. Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake are expected to be the headliners for the Racers Grand Prix
