Two local track and field meets scheduled for Saturday (January 9) have been postponed due to non-approval from the Ministry of health.

Jamaica College’s (JC) Pure Water/Danny Williams Invitational Development Meet and the Ted Dwyer Classics are the meets denied approval.

Chairman of the organising committee, Ian Forbes, said they still have plans to host the meet this year.

“As soon as conditions are more favourable and approval granted, we plan to host the event subject to identifying a suitable date on the JAAA calendar,” said Forbes in a statement.

Meanwhile, the fourth staging of the Ted Dwyer Classics has been rescheduled to Friday, January 22.

The JAAA/PUMA Development Meet, Douglas Forrest Invitational and Manchester High/Charlie Fuller Field Events Meet are all likely to be postponed as well.

  1. I am concerned for her.apart for educational reason ,i would have preferred she had gone professional and stay home for a track and field career.University don’t care about her development.is only to get the most of their investment in her. Since the MVP and Races track club was formed.our best achievers are home base.
