The Gibson McCook Relays Organizing Committee (GMROC) is pleased to welcome Professor Victor Lopez, President of the North American Central American and the Caribbean (NACAC) Athletics Association as our special guest at the 43rd Gibson McCook Relays scheduled for the National Stadium on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
Professor Lopez assumed the presidency of NACAC in 2013 succeeding the Honourable Neville “Teddy” McCook and has been extremely generous in his support for the Gibson McCook Relays since taking over the reins of the Association.
The GMROC is delighted to be able to host the presentation of the 2018 NACAC awards to three Jamaicans who were selected as performers of the year for the 2018 season.
During the Opening Ceremony of the 2019 Gibson McCook Relays, Professor Lopez will give a brief address and present the following Jamaican coach and athletes with their awards in the following categories:
- Mr Julian Robinson (JAM), 2018 NACAC Coach of the Year
- Mr Fedrick Dacres (JAM), 2018 NACAC Senior Male Athlete of the Year
- Miss Briana Williams (JAM), 2018 NACAC Junior Female Athlete of the Year
As we welcome President Lopez, the GMROC congratulates these outstanding Jamaican coach and athletes and uses the opportunity to recommit itself to the development of track and field athletics in Jamaica.
