STARKVILLE, Miss. – After earning spots in the Top 20 in the nation, the Mississippi State track and field teams look to improve their rankings as they host the 2015 Border Clash on Friday.

The meet, which is scheduled for April 10, will begin at 10:30 a.m. CT. MSU will be competing alongside Ole Miss, Southern Mississippi and Alcorn State as they go against Alabama, Auburn, Alabama State and Samford.

MSU enters the meet with the men’s team ranked No. 18 and the women ranked No. 20 nationally. Alabama’s men’s team stands as the meet’s highest ranked squad at No. 8, while its women’s team is ranked No. 18. The Auburn women are ranked 25th.

MSU will have 57 athletes representing the Maroon and White in the 2015 edition of the Border Clash.

Eight Bulldogs will be competing in the 200m run. On the women’s team will be Shayla Luckett, Euricka Hardy and Erica Bougard and for the men will be Alfred Larry, Brandon McBride, Rodrigo Rocha, Marshall Nunn and James Anderson.

McBride, Juston Waters, Charles Taylor, Dustin James II and Kimari Martin will all be representing MSU in the 400m dash. In the 400m hurdles will be Jovan Davis, Wesley White, Justin Pizarro and Ocian Archer.

Distance runners Cornelia Griesche, Emma Neigel, MartaFrietas, Mia Meydrich Madison Milhoan, Damian Roszko and Patrick Monaghan will compete in Friday’s 1500m run. In the 800m run will be Frietas, Andrew Monaghan, Rhianwedd Price, Kaelin Kersh and Scottie Hearn

In the high jump for the Bulldogs will be Logan Boss, Abigail Dill, Deja Givens Marcus Jackson, Seth Peace, Arzell McCoy, A.J. Ward and Zachary Taylor. Jackson set the school record in the high jump last week at the Florida Relays. 

Also in the field for the Bulldogs will be Haley Reynolds, Sasha-Gaye Marston, Daniel Carroll, Tautvydas Kieras and Zachary Taylor in the discus and shot put. Kieras and Marston both hold the MSU school records in the discus, which they set this season.

Competing for the Bulldogs in the triple jump will be Ebony Brinker, Tiffany Flynn and Jason Harper. In the long jump will be McCoy, Ward, Zachary Taylor, Jaquarius Wilson and Jesse Austin for the men, and for the women will be Bougard, Flynn and Rochelle Farquharson.

Bougard, Wilson, Zachary Taylor and Curtis Thompson will be competing for the Maroon and White in the javelin throw.

In the pole vault, Austin, Carl Pittman, Sydney Rodkey and Chelsea McDaniel will represent the Bulldogs.

Field events are set to begin at 10:30 a.m., with the hammer throw. The first running event is the 4x100m relay at 5 p.m. Prior to the running events, MSU will begin the dedication of the Mike Sanders Track Complex at 4:45 p.m.
