Jamaicans Stephenie-Ann McPherson with 50.33 and Christine Day, 50.75 were finished second and third respectively in the women’s 400m at Saturday’s Paris Diamond League meeting. The event winner was American Natasha Hastings, 50.06.
Simone Facey of Jamaica, 22.70 was fourth in the women’s 200m, won by Dafne Schoppers of Netherland in 22.13.
Aisha Praught, the first Jamaican steeplechase Olympic Games finalist, failed to finish the event, which Ruth Jebet of Bahrain set a new world record of 8:52.78.
Kim Collins of St. Kitts and Nevis ran 10.12 for sixth place in the men’s 100m, which Ben Youssef Meité of Côte d’Ivoire topped in 9.96.
New Zealand’s Tomas Walsh threw 22.00m to win the men’s shot put
