The First NAAA/NGC Development Meet is open to primary and secondary school students as well as adults. Registration will take place on the morning of the meet. Interested athletes are asked to be at the Dwight Yorke Stadium from 9am to register. There is no cost of participate or to watch the meet.
President of the Tobago Athletic Committee Garth Nichols says the meet is significant ahead of the 2017 season. “This meet is a build up the Carifta Games (set for Curacao from April 15-17) and also the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Age-Group Championships o be hosted in Trinidad and Tobago (in June 17-18).”
Nichols is urging the public to come on Sunday and support the event. “We are asking the general public to come out. You don’t have to be attached to a (track and field) club. You can compete unattached and then join a club after.”
