LIBREVILLE –  Kenya’s Luke Kibet, the 2007 world marathon champion, and Ethiopia’s Alemayehu Askale took the titles at the Marathon du Gabon on Sunday (29 November).

Kibet made it to the finish first in 2:20:18 in his fourth marathon of the year. His compatriot Peter Kurui (2:26:23), the 2013 champion; and Tanzania’s Ezekiel Ngimba (2:28:08) took the other top spots.

Ethiopians swept the top three spots in the women’s race, Kumeshi Sichala (2:50:24) and Zewdu Mulunesh (2:55:58) finishing behind Askale’s 2:48:11.
