Carmelita Jeter believes Florence Griffith Joyner 100m world record can be broken. Jeter made the comment on Tuesday (17 Feb), a day before the AIT International Indoor meet here in Ireland.
Griffith Joyner, in 1988, ran a world record time of 10.49secs over the 100m dash.
“I think that record will someday be broken,” said Jeter, who is now 35.
Griffith Joyner recorded the fastest three 100m times of 10.49, 10.61 and 10.62 while Jeter is the second fastest ever with 10.64.
“They said the 4x100m could never be broken, and we broke that, with our 40.82 [at the London Olympics].”
